Questionnaire On The Use/Abuse Of Wasta

Asalamu Alaikum/Hello to my dear FHWS readers,

I am in the process of writing a post on the use/abuse of wasta. This system greatly frustrates Saudi/non-Saudi couples who do not have access to a wasta to expedite the approval of their marriage permission application. I am in the process of writing a post on the use/abuse of wasta. This system greatly frustrates Saudi/non-Saudi couples who do not have access to a wasta to expedite the approval of their marriage permission application. As I have normally done in the past when writing an article for FHWS, I do research and interview others in the form of questionnaires. It is to educate non-Saudi/Saudi couples, especially non-Saudis and bring an awareness on a particular subject I cover. In this case, use/abuse in the wasta system. I intend for the article to be balanced, reflecting both view points on the use of wasta because in my opinion, wasta isn’t necessarily a bad thing depending on how its used. I even found a fatwa that it is beneficial if not abused which I will be including that in the article insha’Allah. Anyway, this article will not be anti-anything but balanced, fair, objective and sensitive of the government insha’Allah.

If you would like to share your views on this subject, the questions are below. As always, if anyone wants to submit their answers on this blog as an anonymous contributor, confidentiality is guaranteed insha’Allah. Please copy/paste the questions into an email and send it to emailfhws at gmail dot com. For those of you on the FHWS Facebook group, you can do the same or send it to me in a private message to my Facebook account. Deadline to submit your answers: one week from the date of this post which will be 30 March 2011. I will send out a reminder as we get closer to the deadline insha’Allah. Please pass this questionnaire on to others whom you think may be interested. Thank you! Tara Umm Omar
